great read
This is really a classic age of discovery book. The details that the author weaved in here are fantastic. This is one of those books where it dawns on you how the history of exploration touched areas you really didn't realize. I would highly recommend this book.
There is not a book of Albert Marrins that I have yet to read without falling in love all over with the Man! He does such a great job of making history real and relevant without boring any reader-junior high to adult! I wish he would complete a history of the US so that all textbooks could be banned and kids would learn to love history!
