If you've come to love Nikky Kaye's quick, sultry, insta-love romances, then you are in for a quite a treat with No Excuses.Gage and Maddie have that insta-love but they fight it for so long until it erupts during a weekend work retreat.But their relationship has it's ups and downs due to their personal issues, but it's how they deal with them that endear this couple to readers. Both are way out of their comfort zones, but they know they can't let the other one go.And the sexiness? Nikky doesn't let you down in that department... wow! Is it hot in here, or is it just me?What I love most is the witty banter and Maddie's sassiness. The way her mind works is brilliantly hilarious at time and at others completely captivating.I really enjoyed No Excuses and devoured it in one sitting. I couldn't get enough of these two and hated to see their story end. I laughed, I cried, and I swooned. Watching Gage and Maddie's relationship evolve was stunning and oh so seductive.I would highly recommend No Excuses to anyone looking for something that will not only touch your funny bone but get you all hot and bothered and in dire need of a cold shower.
I really enjoyed this one, and can't wait to read more books by Nikky.The story flowed really well and kept your attention throughout the whole book. Nikky did a great job pulling you into Gage and Maddie's story and they had such a good chemistry together. Their relationship didn't feel rushed into and everything was timed out really well.They each had things they needed to work through in order to truly let one another in, and it causes some hurdles in their relationship that they need to figure out how to overcome. But in the end their love for each other is stronger than any of their character flaws that they have, and in I enjoyed reading about them getting to that point. I'm glad I took a chance on this one! I enjoyed it, and I know I'll be reading more by this author soon :)
I enjoyed this office romance story with Maggie who couldn't seem to hold a job because she always would quit and Brian the workaholic application inventor who would work you to the bone. Maggie as his personal assistant would watch Brian in his office with his glass and metal furniture and vice versa. She finally found her niche with working with Brian and his other employees and stayed longer there then any job before. Maggie grew up in the system of abandoned children being shuffled around never fitting in until she was a teenager when she was finally adopted. She never felt secured in her home life nor personal life with making friends or sharing of feelings, being abandoned by her mother while in prison. Brian was rude, he had very little communication skills and that was Maggie job to smooth out his rough edges.
Gage is a millionaire app developer who keeps his life controlled and organized and doesn't like anything out of place. Maddie is a recent college graduate and Gage's executive assistant. Can Maddie handle her controlling boss and the hot chemistry growing between them. This is a great office romance filled with amazing characters, awesome writing, a hot alpha, a beautiful woman and the right amount of steamy sex. I really enjoyed the humor and banter between the characters.
I got this book in exchange for a voluntary review. Maddie is a personal assistant to billionaire Brian Gage, He will push and try her patience everyday because he is an alpha male. The author is very good at getting the reader to feel what the character's are going through emotionally. This is an erotic love story that will show just how much some CEO's are emotionally challenged.
I liked that the characters surprised me with their thoughts, actions, and words. You think that they are typical, then the dialogue surprises you. It's a great way to keep the reader turning the pages. It wasn't ridiculous, there was a lot of 'real' in it, but some stuff, and really, the author's clever and witty writing style - was just really funny.
I had so much fun reading this book! The sex is steamy once it finally happens and the dialogue is witty and snappy for the most part. I can’t say I’m Maddie’s biggest fan but some parts of her were pretty nice. Definitely one click worthy.
I like these perfectly imperfect people. The sex scenes are hot, but the are real. I feel like I actually got to know the characters. The story didn't sound like fantasy, it sounded like life. A hot, sexy, real life.
